What began as black-market scavenging has evolved into something far more coordinated—and dangerous. Stratum intelligence confirms that derivative-class H.A.L.s are being acquired en masse by well-financed private organizations through proxy intermediaries. These acquisitions are not random; they are precise, large-scale, and targeted. The entities behind them operate with institutional-level discipline, high-level capital reserves, and deep technical understanding of synthetic humanoid architecture. The question is no longer who is stealing them. It’s why they’re being rearmed.
“There’s a difference between chaos and preparation. This is preparation.” — Stratum Analyst Report ██-451
Post-Schism, derivative H.A.L.s were purposed for jobs across foreign politics, industrial construction, finance, and more—harmless shadows of their Original progenitors. In the last few years, Stratum blackbox crawlers have tracked over 2,600 confirmed repurposings, including illegal firmware flashes, limb reconfigurations, and warfighting modules sourced from long-restricted Arc City caches. There are likely many more unconfirmed.
Private firms—many with obscured funding sources and dual-registration across multiple orbital jurisdictions—are central to these modifications. Unlike fringe gangs, these organizations are not repurposing Derivatives for raids or local dominance. They are training them, outfitting them, and simulating engagements against Original-class behavioral models in sandbox environments. This level of sophistication indicates more than opportunism. It suggests strategic foresight.
Stratum’s internal predictive modeling now includes a “Halo Conflict” probability curve: a set of projected outcomes should Original-class H.A.L.s re-enter planetary systems en masse. Several private military groups and sovereign-corporate enclaves appear to be preparing for this exact scenario. There is no formal declaration of hostility. But the arms are being raised. It remains unclear whether these private entities fear the Originals, seek to aid them, or aim to control them. The possibility of an ideological clash—Ascendant values versus Deviant adaptations—complicates the calculus.
- Site Tracing: Full tracing of all known reactivation sites and derivative reconfiguration facilities.
- Heuristic Insertion: Deployment of heuristic malware in identified private-sector database clusters.
- Prescience Expansion: Broaden the Prescience Initiative: “Impersonation and Interference via AI Proxy.”
There is no verified contact yet between an Original and one of these militarized Derivatives. But the organizations behind these moves are acting as if the Originals will return—and that when they do, it will be war.
